Jamey asked me about what we do for cooking. Well, we use the campfire to heat up our foods and make the s'mores. For lunch we have a cold lunch like peanut butter crackers, fruit, granola, and a dessert (cookies, hard candy, etc.) We have learned the hard way to not bring a dessert that will melt. We have bought small camping bowls that is what we heat up our dinner in. We buy the small micorwavable dinners that is found close to the soups. They are ravioli, spagahetti, some-sort-of pasta, or soup. We have not used a dutch oven. I think that they would be to heavy to carry.

Sometimes we make foil packets. You mix frozen chicken or hamburger meat, vegetables and seasoning and place individual portions in a piece of foil to freeze. You lay the foil packet on the coals to cook dinner and eat out of the packet. When done the foil burns in the campfire, no trash. The pilsbury cheesecake mix makes a good desert, premix at home with dry milk. Add water at campsite and kneed in freezer bag, put gragham cracker crumbs on top and you have desert.
