So sorry to those that check our blog regularly. I haven't posted in awhile so here is all the happenings from Christmas.
Every year we have a big cookie baking weekend. Allie helps me make the cookies one day and then the next day we decorate them with icing and sprinkles. The cookies are given to Allie's Sunday school teachers, save some for Santa, and then we eat the rest. This is a tradition from when Kevin was little. Kevin and his family did the same thing and we even use the same recipe. Allie was so proud carrying the gifts to her teachers and saying "we made cookies for you!"
For the weekend before Christmas, we went to Gatlinburg and met Kevin's parents there in a condo. Kevin and I stayed from Saturday to Tuesday and then Allie stayed by herself until Friday (Chritmas Eve). It was nice to have a short trip and to be able to spend sometime with Kevin's parents. Allie enjoyed staying with them.
Christmas Eve was spent at home. A low key evening with Allie going to bed early and then watching a movie. When Christmas morning came Allie hurried downstairs and was so excited to see that Santa had came and had left her a bite of cookie. We opened all the presents and then had the chance to eat breakfast. After playing with the new toys and resting, we headed over to my parents for Christmas with them. We had a great Christmas together! It was the first Christmas in 15 years that we had a white Christmas.
