This past weekend we decided to go to Gatlinburg for our anniversary. We had tons of fun!!!

On Saturday we headed straight to "The Track." It is a great place for go-carts and kiddie rides. Allie was tall enough to drive the kiddie carts. After a couple of times around, she figured it out. Then we went to the Wild Woody there at "The Track." It is a much bigger track and the go-carts go a lot faster so she couldn't drive but she could ride with us. Allie really loved it! She did ride a kiddie ride but then chose to use the last few points on riding the Wild Woody one more time with Kevin.

After doing the go-carts we had some lunch and then went to one of the candy kitchens in Gatlinburg. Allie had brought some of her money for the trip. We suggested going to the candy kitchen and using her money there. She really liked that idea. Kevin and Allie ran in the kitchen while I stayed with Leah in the car (she was sleeping). Allie picked out some gummy bears and Kevin got some taffy and freshly made chocolate covered mints (yum!!). Then we went to Clingman's Dome to do some hiking. When we got there it was raining so we waited for a little bit in the car and the rain stopped. We all hiked up to the top. Since it had just rained we really couldn't see much but it was still fun hiking. We then decided it was time to head back to the hotel, grab some dinner, and then go swimming.

The pool was nice. Allie jumped right in and started swimming with her water wings on. I got in and was watching her when Kevin came with Leah. Leah wasn't too sure about the water. She started fussing right away. I tried to get her to splash and kick but she just held on tight. Kevin got out and held her for a few minutes and then got back in with her and she was hesitant but not fussing. By the end she was letting me splash her hands and kick her feet. Funny thing...I gave her a bath Monday and she wouldn't stop splashing and laughing. Maybe I started something. Haha.

On Sunday we decided that we would go to church back in Nashville that night so we went to play Hillbilly Golf that morning. Kevin helped her and she did really well. I'm pretty sure her favorite part was riding the tram up the hill to hole #1 and then back down after hole #18. Then Allie spent the last of her money at an arcade and we walked around downtown until time to go home.

As we were driving back home, Allie said in a sad voice and tears in her eyes "I wish we could live in Gatlinburg." That shows just how much fun we had!
