We went to Brasstown Valley Resort for our first night on our vacation. It was really nice. We were able to go hiking a little and just relax. However, when we woke up on Monday Allie was sick. This was not a good way to start the day but we were going to make the best of it. We made it down to the breakfast buffet (which is really good). Allie still didn't want to eat anything but she sat with us. After breakfast we went back to the room for Allie to rest some before we left. We waited a while and watched some cartoons. Allie said she was feeling better just tired so we headed out. As we were leaving Allie told me that "all she needed was to lay in bed and watch tv. So, I should remember that the next time her stomach hurts." If only it was that easy. Haha! She was feeling much better by mid-afternoon and was asking to play on the playground at lunch. Thankfully, she felt better quickly and no one else was sick the entire trip.

She had climbed into the pillow case and
surrounded herself with more pillows.
Allie wanted me to build her a sandcastle
with a pool and a seat.

It was so beautiful!!
The girls and I enjoyed breakfast
on the balcony most mornings.

Leah crawled towards the waves and would
giggle as they splashed against her.

She LOVED the sand!!!
We arrived at our hotel on Monday evening. We were staying at the Hilton and it was really nice! Kevin and Allie went and picked up some dinner and we all ate on the balcony overlooking the beach. Kevin and I decided that we would alternate beach day and pool day all week. That turned out great!
The girls loved the beach. Allie played in the water and built sandcastles. Allie ended up being able to jump the waves by herself. Kevin or I would be next to her but she didn't need us to hold her at all. She also made some new friends each day. Leah played under the umbrella most of the time because it was so hot. However, she did play in the waves some too. She was really happy just digging in the sand and tossing it over her shoulder. :) When Leah was playing in the waves she crawled towards them giggling. It was so cute!
Kevin and I decided we would pack a lunch everyday and then go out to eat for dinner. That worked perfectly! We just ate a picnic under the umbrella and then we would go back to the room around 4 and get ready for dinner. We found out the first night that we needed to go to dinner early so that the lines wouldn't be too long. Every night after that we were heading to dinner by 5pm.
We had really good weather for the week. It was HOT but didn't rain until our last 2 days. On the first day it stormed we were at the beach when a storm came in the late afternoon. We just got ready and went on to dinner. On the last day (Sun) we went to church and then were going to go to the pool until it closed and then the beach until dark. It started storming about 1 1/2 hours after we got to the pool so we just waited it out (2 hours) then we had the beach to ourselves. :)
Kevin and Leah. She is napping at the pool.
Kevin and the girls on the lazy river.
They loved riding the boat together.
We did this a lot.
This was the end of a pool day.
Leah was sitting in the pool chair
and fell asleep on her own. She is still sitting.

Leah loved the slide too.
Our hotel was close to the Embassy Suites and we were able to use the water park and lazy river. It was about a 5 mins walk. Allie loved the water park! Leah really liked going down the slide too. Leah kept pointing at the slide wanting me to take her down it again and again. We did it a lot!
It was about 1 ft. deep all over so Allie was able to run and play by herself. She just needed us for the lazy river. She really liked having that independence. Leah found one of the fountains she really like playing in too. We all loved going to the water park!

The rainbow out over the ocean.
This was from the storm that came through that afternoon.
Allie took this one too. Leah is being silly here.
We wanted to walk on the beach 1 night during sunset. We did this on the evening that it rained during the afternoon and we had an early dinner. It was a really beautiful evening!
Our trip to Myrtle Beach was a lot of fun and really relaxing! It was just what our family needed.

We like Allie's pictures and Leah taking a nap on dad the best!
