Fun Saturday
A couple of weekends ago, Allie and I went to the Buttercup Festival in Nolensville. We had a great time checking out the booths and playing. There was a bounce house (one of Allie's favorite things) and the Purple Play Bus. The owner of the bus had taken out the seats and carpeted the entire bus and made it a mini play area. It had a zip-line inside the bus. Here she is riding the zip-line which she did A LOT!!!!

Sneaky!!
Bedtime around our house has not been as easy as it use to be. Allie tries everything to stay awake longer like water, hugs, bathroom, etc... She is just testing her limits like she does every couple of months. It will go back to normal soon. A couple of nights ago I put Allie to bed. She did fall asleep fast but then woke back up within the hour and had to go to the bathroom. I helped her wash her hands and then took her back to bed. I then went downstairs to watch some tv before I went to bed. I thought I heard something up stairs but I just thought it was Felix. When I went to bed, this is what I found. Allie had left her room and sneaked into our bed and went to sleep. I also noticed that she got in Daddy's side. She is a sneaky little girl. We did move her back to her bed for the night. I have to admit; it was a good try to get to sleep in Daddy and Mommy's bed. Thursday, March 24, 2011
It's a Girl!!!!
Side ProfileOn Tuesday we had our baby's ultrasound. We found out she is healthy and is right on track for her due date. The ultrasound tech told us that she weighs about 12 oz. During the ultrasound she was moving around alot! We might have another busy body. We can't wait to hold her. So excited!!!

Learning More and More
Well, I haven't posted in a while. I started thinking about what was happening around here and not much new is going on. We are enjoying the pretty days that come every now and then. However, the forecast says the weather is going to be wonderful for the next week. Yay!
About a month ago, Allie was asking me how to write certain letters. She wanted to work on writing her name. So, we did. A few days later I was able buy some workbooks. I didn't know how this was going to go. So, I just told her we have some workbooks if she wants to do them. Allie LOVES working on her workbooks with me. I do not pressure her to work on her books but Allie and I talk about things casually. I feel very underqualified for teaching a preschooler her letters, sounds, writing, and everything else she wants to learn. We are very proud of her!
The new baby is growing fine. My next appointment is Tuesday. That is also when we have the ultrasound to find out boy/girl and to make sure everything is healthy. The house is divided about what the baby is. Kevin and I think boy and Allie thinks it is a girl. We'll see on Tuesday. We are so excited!

Pillow Pet and Build-a-Bear Party!
their pillow pets, popcorn, and drinks
Today Allie and Sydney had a pillow pet and Build-a-Bear party. I didn't realize that I was to have popcorn popped and sprite poured when Sydney got here this morning at 8:45am. Thankfully, I was able to quickly pop the popcorn and pour the sprite. The party was back on track. Sydney and Allie had a great time watching a movie and eating popcorn. Then we painted some and then finished watching the movie a little later. Those two had a great day together and are already planning a sleepover.

Another Snow Day!!!
Here are a few pictures and videos from our last snow day. The roads were really bad so Kevin couldn't go to work. He was able to take Allie sledding and I came along and watched and took pictures. I can't/shouldn't sled anymore this winter. It is too hard for me to climb the slick snowy hill with a sled and while helping Allie. I was able to get a few pictures and videos from the bottom of the hill. There has been so much snow this winter and we have had fun but I am so glad the weather is now warming up (at least this week).
A quick update about the new baby. I had a doctor appointment today and everything is going fine. Today was the first day I got to hear the little heartbeat and it was so sweet. My doctor said the heartbeat sounded perfect. I am a little extra tired and really hungry but other than that I feel good. Next month we will have the ultrasound and we will find out boy or girl. I couldn't believe we were already making the ultrasound appt. This pregnancy seems to be going really fast.

Adjusting to Our New Big Girl Bed
We took the front off of Allie's crib about 2 weeks ago. She has a convertible one so by taking the front off we now have a toddler bed. We had to do this because Allie had fallen out of her crib. Thankfully, she wasn't hurt.
Since we changed the bed to a big girl bed, we now find Allie sleeping in all sorts of places in her room. This is how I found her last night before I went to bed. She was still asleep...half on the bed and half standing on the floor. My best guess is that she fell out and started to get back in bed but fell asleep too soon. Kevin and I thought this was so cute. Needless to say, we are still adjusting. :)

OUR BIG NEWS!!
Due: 8/11/11
So over the past 10 weeks, Kevin and I have had a secret. I now know that a lot people suspected but no one wanted to say anything. I guess I wasn't hiding it as well as I thought. :) I'm pregnant and my due date is 8/11/11.
I have been feeling pretty sick and REALLY tired. However, I haven't been as sick as I was with Allie which makes life a lot easier. I think being able to lay on the couch has helped with my morning sickness. Also, I had a little helper who loved getting me crackers, snacks out of the pantry, and handing me my water (of course if I shared. haha)
Allie is really excited about being a big sister and is already talking about holding the baby, singing lullabys, and playing Pat-a-cake. I know I will have lots of help when it is just me, Allie, and the new baby.
We are all so excited!!

Christmas 2010
So sorry to those that check our blog regularly. I haven't posted in awhile so here is all the happenings from Christmas.
Every year we have a big cookie baking weekend. Allie helps me make the cookies one day and then the next day we decorate them with icing and sprinkles. The cookies are given to Allie's Sunday school teachers, save some for Santa, and then we eat the rest. This is a tradition from when Kevin was little. Kevin and his family did the same thing and we even use the same recipe. Allie was so proud carrying the gifts to her teachers and saying "we made cookies for you!"
For the weekend before Christmas, we went to Gatlinburg and met Kevin's parents there in a condo. Kevin and I stayed from Saturday to Tuesday and then Allie stayed by herself until Friday (Chritmas Eve). It was nice to have a short trip and to be able to spend sometime with Kevin's parents. Allie enjoyed staying with them.
Christmas Eve was spent at home. A low key evening with Allie going to bed early and then watching a movie. When Christmas morning came Allie hurried downstairs and was so excited to see that Santa had came and had left her a bite of cookie. We opened all the presents and then had the chance to eat breakfast. After playing with the new toys and resting, we headed over to my parents for Christmas with them. We had a great Christmas together! It was the first Christmas in 15 years that we had a white Christmas.
